Ravi Shastri Was Full of Praise for Shubman Gill as “One of the Most Talented Players in World”

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri was all praise for Gujarat Titans star Shubman Gill. As Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals to continue their undefeated start to Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022,

The 22-year-old started the IPL with a bad start getting our for a duck in their first encounter of the season but he showed everyone why he is not to forget in his second game where he came back strong with a brilliant knock to help his team put up 170/6 against a superb bowling attack. Ex India Head coach termed the young lad as “Pure Talent” and said he is one of the most talented cricketers in the world.

Shastri told broadcasters Star Sports after Gill’s brilliant against DC. “He is pure talent. That guy is one of the most talented players in this country and in world cricket, to be honest,”

He further said that “Once he gets going he will score and he makes it look easy. He has got that punch, he’s got the time and he has got the power to clear the ground,”

Was all praise for him “He is just made for this format of the game. It’s just his shot selection, his rotation of the strike which he talked about himself. Very few dot balls today which took the pressure off him. And he’s the guy who’ll put the bad balls away,”.

“He is very good on the short ball, the short-arm jab we saw in this innings of his. And this will do his confidence a world of good,” the Former Head Coach said of his knock.

Whereas the new entrants Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by 14 runs to remain unbeaten in the competition with superb performances from Gill and Lockie Ferguson.

Gujarat Titans’ bowling was also one of the main reasons for them being unbeaten with the performances from Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Shami. The latter took four wickets including that of DC’s skipper Rishabh Pant, while the former took two wickets to restrict Delhi capitals to 157/9 in their chase.
